The Joys of Civic Duty

I had a full list of things to do since I didn't accomplish much over the last couple days, so where was I
today? Sitting in an auditorium with a bunch of other people waiting to be called for jury duty!

I know it's my civic duty and it's been more than five years since I last served, but it couldn't have come at a more inconvenient time. I guess I really shouldn't complain though because even though I had to spend the whole day at the courthouse waiting to be picked for a case, once I was dismissed I won't be called again for another five years or more.

I accessed my emails through my cellphone to make sure that I didn't miss anything important, but since the courthouse or should I say the "jury floor" didn't have WI-FI I didn't want to take the chance of running down my cellphone battery by going online to do much else. There really wasn't a need to do so since I had already informed my clients that I had jury duty today.

It wasn't a completely unpleasant experience being unplugged for a while but I am dreading the long list I'm going to have to catch up on tomorrow. Oh well, at least I had time to get to the high score on level 30 in Candy Crush...
