What I Learned From the Ultimate Blog Challenge

Today is Thursday, October 31, 2013 and the Ultimate Blog Challenge is over and I made it through!

When I started this challenge 31 days ago I did it to help me get consistent with my writing and help build my brand; this challenge has definitely done that. I've had more views and comments on my posts than ever before and that is all due to the challenge.

I've had to push myself when I didn't feel like writing or know what to write about. I committed myself to getting a post out, if for no other reason than to prove to myself that I could do it. I found myself through the course of this challenge consuming lots of content and trying to find ways of writing about things, whether it be business or personal, in a way that had not already been done before. I decided for me that meant writing from my perspective.

This challenge also made me take a good hard look at how I was dealing with things, both professionally and personally, and admit that some changes needed to be made. I shared those experiences through my posts and it was so encouraging and comforting to know that other people felt the same way.

I love to write and when I started this challenge it was my hope that I would grow as a writer. I feel that I've done that and will continue to grow and get stronger, and now feel I have the courage to branch out into other areas of writing that I never thought would be possible.

The writer in me has been re-awakened and I will never allow it to go dormant again; if for no other reason but that I will be forever grateful to the Ultimate Blog Challenge!
