One more day until we say goodbye to 2013...
As the year draws to a close, it is the perfect time to look back on what a life-changing year this has been for me and how far I've come.
I left a stable 10 year job where I was miserable and started my own virtual assistant business; it's been a struggle but I've never been so happy working in my entire life. I lost the most important man in my life when my dad passed away in April and I felt as if a part of me died as well. I didn't quite know how I would keep going but with the support of family, friends, and even complete strangers offering words of support I made it through. Nothing will ever be the same with him gone, but I know how proud of me he would be and how he trusted me to take care of my mom and that gives me the strength to keep going when I feel like giving up.
I met some of the most interesting, welcoming, encouraging people online who helped me with my business, my health and well-being, and become more active and engaging on social media. Through this interaction I can now say that I have made new friends around the country and around the world.
A year ago I would'nt have thought it was possible to go through so many changes and still be happy and hopeful about the future, but 2013 has taught me a lot about myself and I now know that I can do anything.
