So the new year has begun and with that comes the obligatory resolutions. I don't make resolutions any more
because I never seem to keep them so instead I have set monthly goals for myself as they are much easier for me to achieve and track my progress.
For the month of January I will schedule out as much as possible in order to make better use of my time. I've also put the most obvious and mundane tasks like checking email and writing blog posts in my calendar to keep me focused, and in the case of my blog posts, from waiting until the day of to write them!
My goals for the month of January are:
- Blog twice a week
- Check my email according to schedule and no more than that
- Schedule more automated posts for my social media platforms
- Engage in social media in a more scheduled manner i.e. set time limits for each of my social media platforms and stick to them (this one will be hard and I'm still working on coming up with a realistic schedule)
- Go to bed by 11:30 pm so that I am well-rested both physically and mentally so that I can better service my clients
I've spoken about issues with time management for my own business needs many times in forums and in blog posts; with the new year and some experience under my belt it's time to stop talking and start doing!
2014 is the year that I will pay just as much attention to my own business as I do to my clients. By making sure that I am functioning as efficiently as possible in my own business, I can bring an even greater level of dedication and service to my clients, which is ultimately what it is all about.
