A week in to March and we've had a few beautiful days that have made me more than ready for spring. I can't wait until I'm able to sit outside, work and enjoy the fresh air!
It's goal setting time again but first I'll give a quick update on how I did with my goals for February:
- Go to bed by 11:30 pm every night - well it was good while it lasted...This started out really well but then my sleep times started varying wildly: sometimes I met my goal and sometimes I went to bed extremely late. I'm starting to feel like I can't get into a consistent sleep pattern and want to give up but I will give it one more try this month, then it is what it is
- Exercise daily - this one I have been doing well with because I have been doing exercise challenges. I plan to add running outside (GULP) starting this week to try to kick this weight loss into high gear
- Ditch my to-do list - I must have been having a moment when I wrote this because other than that one day when I got a lot done without my list, I have been lost without it. As I wrote in my last blog post I've been reunited with my reliable Excel spreadsheet and it feels so good!
- Create one video - epic fail, moving on...
- Blog twice a week - I'm going to have to revisit this one because realistically I am so busy now that I just don't have time to write twice a week; once a week though is an absolute must
Now on to my goals for March and I will focus on the top three in terms of importance:
- Finish my taxes - this goes without saying how important it is to get this done and honestly I have everything all prepared and ready to go, now it's just about sitting down and doing it. TurboTax is screaming my name right now
- Write and schedule blog posts for the next three weeks - I've been telling myself I'm going to write in advance for a while now and I never seem to do it; this month no excuses!
- Treat myself to a night out - I watch every penny and hold onto them like a life jacket because they are very precious but you know what? I have worked extremely hard over the past several months and been through an emotional roller coaster dealing with my dad's passing, and I need to do something fun. I have no idea what it will be yet but I will make the most of it!
The practice of sitting down and writing out what I want to do helps me to think about the most important things I want to accomplish for the month and even if I don't hit all of my goals, it gives me something to work on going forward and that can only make me a better person and a better VA.
What are your three most important goals for the month?
